Holmfield Day Centre
Holmfield Day Centre in Anstey Heights opened in 1998 and is run by Leicester Quaker Housing Association. It caters for older people with dementia. In July 2011 Rotarian Chris Battye visited the centre to present a £500 cheque on behalf of Wreake Valley Rotary Club. His mother, Joan, attends Holmfield four days a week. This gives his father, Maurice, who is Joan's full time carer, some much needed respite. The money went towards providing a greenhouse for centre users, many of whom are keen gardeners. The cheque was presented to Ann, Assistant Centre manager. In attendance was Assistant Mayor, Mohammed Dawood, council lead for Adult Social Care Matters.
