New Syston Rotary Club
In 2016 Wreake Valley Rotary Club decided to form a new Rotary Club based in Syston. As the Wreake club's membership becomes older the plan is to establish a new club of younger people to eventually take over our role in the local community.
This will involve developing a nucleus of 20 members so the new club can be an independent stand alone Rotary Club. The club is open to men and women of all backgrounds. Your outlook on life is more important than what your job is!
The new club meets fortnightly on Mondays at either the Dog and Gun or The Hub (attached to the Methodist Church) in Syston and is involved in all sorts in between.
Its a good way to meet new people and help your local community. Elsewhere on these pages you will get a flavour of what Rotary is all about. In the first twelve months as a fledgling club members have : helped on the annual Santa Sleigh, planned a Christmas Carol Service, assisted at the Watermead Challenge charity run, successfully organised a Beer Festival, enjoyed curry nghts, quiz nights and even sausage making courtesy of the local butcher! They have raised money for Alex's Wish, the Rothley based Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy charity, and the Soar Valley Music Centre.
